With a background in Psychology, Kiran has a strong focus in mental health research, particularly mood disorders and treatment-resistant depression (TRD). Over the past few years, she has worked in various research roles and her work has involved managing clinical trials, conducting projects involving secondary care electronic healthcare data, development of an algorithm to identify TRD patients to enable stratification and recruitment into clinical trials, and engaging closely with PPIE groups to ensure their lived experiences shape research efforts.
Kiran is passionate about advancing personalised and precision-driven approaches in mental healthcare and with her PhD, she hopes to contribute to early identification and tailored interventions that can transform the care and outcomes for individuals living with complex mental health conditions.
