The TMRP DTP has at least one student representative for each cohort. Our student representatives play a vital role in creating a bridge between doctoral students, and the DTP Leadership Team. They act as the voice of their peers, gathering feedback training opportunities, and overall wellbeing, and presenting these concerns to the appropriate channels. In addition, in conjunction with the DTP Manager, they help foster a sense of community within the PhD cohort by organising social events and suggesting workshops that encourage collaboration and mutual support.
The remit for our student representatives is as follows:
- Liaise with students and the wider leadership team to collect and disseminate feedback to shape the progression of the DTP.
- Present feedback and provide input to DTP issues at leadership team and annual advisory board meetings.
- Consultation on training, recruitment and other events as needed.
- Make web page on student representatives.
- Ensure that all DTP cohorts are able to connect. This may include setting up a mailing list, encouraging the use of Base Camp and setting up a group Whatsapp chat.
